CHRIS BARTOS AND THE RACCOONS/BRAD BARR/EMMA BAXTER POSTER

I thought this time around I'd try to do something a little different and play around with coloring techniques ( to make it look more like a screenprint). All my posters are digitally printed because it's tough to print the pencil gradient. It is possible to do but I feel like the pencil touch gets lost and that is what I enjoy about using pencil: capturing intensity and shadow and mood by how much pressure you put on the pencil. Its a little more physical, a little more intimate. I love the slight nuances and imperfection of pencil.

LITTLE VIDEOS BRANDING

Branding and web for Elliot Glass' new website ( he is the one that made our beauuutiful Hoof and the Heel vids!). He makes vids for bands for free to showcase the ones he likes so it seemed fitting that I help out as well! :)

ALLZ M' SAYN: SWEAT CITY

When I'm super busy with a billion projects, I usually take a moment to do something new because all those creative juices are mixing together and it's necessary to take a moment and step out of all the work and then jump back in. I think most of my newest projects/paintings/ideas come when I'm hurricaned with work.

Oh yah! Sweat City! It's been HOT HOT HOT in Montreal.

This is from a series of pencil drawings I'm doing with different odd rhymes ( because I love odd rhymes, so) called "ALLZ M' SAYN".

The Hoof and The Heel at PIANOS NYC POSTER

Jemina Pearl, Two Tears, The Hoof and the Heel POSTER!

After an intensive two months of being in the studio, writing, recording, rehearsing, music, music, music - the EP is complete!

All the elements and imagery in the design are signifigant to the band. The EP is titled "and all the tigers" from the very last song we wrote and recorded so that is why, in the end, the design has tigers in it. The tigers all have something about them ( a hoof, a heel, a tattoo from a joke we have, a watch from Harris' childhood). The diamonds in the sky are made from Harris' shirt ( I liked it so much I scanned in the fabric and added it to the design). The sumi-e ink clouds were painted for another album that was never used but I loved them so much that I used them on this one. The lines, zigzags, and dots are images from a diagram about telegraph machines and transistor radios out of an old science book (1950's?) my friend gave me this summer; Farid is studying electrical engineering and I love morse code- I use it often in my poster work with secret messages!
