LITTLE SCREAM/HOOF & HEEL poster
Ooooh Yah, this is my band and we are playing in Brooklyn on Dec. 2nd with Little Scream! It's a totally new band with all new songs from our upcoming album. If you are in the hood, come out and say hi! Should be a great show!
I'm also going to stick around and check out the Brooklyn Comics Festival after.Fun weekend! :) I'm on a hunt for a Japanese bookstore that sells this wonderful illustration magazine called MOE, and I'm going to pop into some cool little book shops here and there ( do you have a favorite?). Any suggestions of some things to do/see while I'm in NYC? THANKS! :)

DUZHEKNEW POSTER

This poster pays secret homage/prayers to Japan (I'm half Japanese, so, I'm thinkin' bout my family as well).
The doughnut is actually a Daruma Doll. You make a wish and paint one eye in and then a year later you paint the other eye in, which is the reason why it only has one eye. There is a little crane too ( 1,000 cranes make wishes come true, hence LARGE eye) and the dog is wearing little Japanese Geta sandals.

HOLLERADO/PARLOVR/THE HOOF AND THE HEEL POSTER
It's our last show of the year and then I'm off to the states for a bit the week after that, so come on out and say HI/BYE until 2011!
I'm excited about this show, Parlovr is one of my favorite Montreal bands and so many times they have a show, we're usually playing one too. I love it when we can play with bands we wanna see. Bonus! :)

MATT AND KIM POSTER!
Poster for a Matt and Kim show!
This year I've had a thing for ghosts and hovering eyeballs that I toss into my drawings, which is sorta Halloweeny and almost seems fitting for the date of the show, but, I didn't want to go Halloween-themed, which is why I offset it with lighter subjects and colors. I don't know where this floating eyeball affinity came from but it kind of reminds me of this Japanese cartoon character that is an eyeball. One aspect of all of my illustrations and posters is characterizing inanimate objects and then have them interact with one another usually through their observations of one another, or looking up to the sky, which, I feel like gives the image depth. What are these characters thinking about? What could a scoop of ice cream possibly be thinking about? Or a bowl be reading with such seriousness? Funny. I think it's more of an observation of humans. We manage to stress out about everything, but, what you would do if a scoop of ice cream started stressing out? You'd probably laugh at it and tell it to chill out, literally. ;)
