L'ARTICHO POO!

I've been drawing some poop for the next "poop themed" Parisian L'Articho illustration/comics publication that will come out in September!
This one won't be in the zine but a couple more will be-- I'll post them up once it comes out!

I'm really excited about this issue. There are going to be so many RAD contributors like LILI SCRATCHY, MOGU TAKAHASHI, and of course the creators CHAMO and YASSINE! :)

INDY KIDS EDITORIAL

Here is part of an editorial I did for INDYKIDS in NYC. The one above is the final version. Below was my first submission but they felt that the princess looked too meek. They wanted her to be a little tougher. So, I recycled the prince by putting his boots on her, turned her dress into pants, made her look angrier and bent her arms ever so slightly so the sword pointed more toward the dragon - all without having to redraw or rescan, just by manipulating, cutting and pasting my original pencil drawing here and there in photoshop. Fun.

ROCKETDOG ART DIRECTION/AD CAMPAIGN FALL 2009

A couple months ago I art directed the Fall09 photoshoot/campaign for Rocketdog Shoes in San Francisco. You can see me in this vid for like 2 seconds "being an art director" ( just standing there laughing (?!?) and movin' stuff around). Hahaha. I LOOOVE art directing and everything that goes into it: working with all the people you need to make something happen (the photographers, artists, stylists, make up, props, etc!), coming up with ideas, brainstorming sessions and R&D [R&D is my ultimate favorite part], advertising, and making sure the job gets done and our vision is coming to life! WHILE having a ton of fun! Because it's Love, Christineland and that is a fun place. Oh man, I am such a dork! HAHAHAHA. :) (But I love it! Dork power!)

Here are some of the ad's I worked on for billboards and posters with my artwork! I was going for a contemporary/illustrative explosive street art. How to make an advertisment that makes the environment more attractive opposed to uglifying it up with the norm? My concept was to create works of art, like paintings, by using oils and pencils mixed together with the lifestyle images.

The first run I did of PIZZA DOING STUFF was for EXPOZINE in MONTREAL (November 28th, 2008) and there were 50 Copies of Vol. 1 and 50 Copies of Vol 2. I'm all out of those except for what is in Drawn and Quarterly and Wooden Apples! So the second run combines both volumes so you get more for you money. SEA LEGS ALBUM ALMOST DONE!!!! YAY!!!

SO! This is the new direction I took the album! And I still have the entire inside of the booklet for all underwater/outerspace art. Super pretty! Now to choose the final colors! AHH! I love color and I love making all kinds of options, but then, once I do that, it's hard to choose just one. All the colors are my babies!

Sooooo---yes, nothing new posted up in a while because I've been toiling over this album but finally tonight it just busted out of me. I had to clean up my desktop which I think helped (it was getting messsssola!).

So excited to have this thing wrapped up so I can get to all my other projects and then once I bust out all these illustration projects this next week, I can focus on music! I only have a month left here until I go back in November to LA!! Although I really would like to just stay here and get someone to sublet out my apartment and help me take care of business...searching for an assistant in L.A.!!!!!
